Urgent Care Vet

The Austin Vet Specialists is growing! An exciting opportunity has opened for an Urgent Care Vet to lead our newly formed Urgent Care team.

Why join us?

We want to create a sustainable future for ER vets, with a proper work-life balance, balanced patient-to-vet ratios, and excellent financial reward.

You will be able to provide the best possible care for patients, using all the right equipment. Whilst interacting with, and learning from, a supportive specialist team (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Imaging, Ophthalmology).

The Austin Urgent Care:

We are conscious of the demands on vet emergency in Adelaide. Our aim is to provide an alternative option, especially for the cases that do not need ICU or intensive care. Hence the formation of The Austin Urgent Care.

We prioritise quality over quantity, guaranteeing the best possible care for each pet. Our focus will be on staff-to-patient ratios, ensuring patients receive close and personalised attention.

Our philosophy is to excel in everything we do or not do it at all. We have not previously offered out-of-hours or overnight care because we were not ready to meet our high standards. Now, we are prepared with dedicated Urgent Care vets and nurses who are ready to handle almost every situation. We do not provide specialist ICU care but can perform almost all other procedures including most urgent surgeries.

The Austin Urgent Care will (initially) be available five days a week (Mon-Fri) to provide immediate medical attention for pets requiring urgent and critical care during those crucial after-hours times when their regular practice is closed. A team of Urgent Care vets, nurses, and animal attendants will look after Urgent Care patients day 24 hours per day Monday to Friday.

About the role:

Casual and permanent positions are available, with a start date of August 2024. The roster will rotate Mon-Fri between various shifts.

Financial loading and other incentives apply providing an attractive salary which will grow with you as you develop your career.
